On second thought, custom moves don't seem that bad, though I guess they're still banned anyway... That Thoron is just one use (and a lot more punishable?), and the fireball has a huge deadzone so it's a pure ranged attack rather than spacing, and doesn't stun like PK Fire.

Well, I think it's settled. Pretty sure Shulk's my main right now. He's also been my most played in records, next to Robin. Much as I like Pit, his playstyle is just lacking something for me now... His new A moves are amazing, but his completely redone special set (and the arrows being super laggy) isn't doing it for me. Honestly, he feels quite... Generic now, it's kinda sad. I'll still play him a lot, but Shulk is just taking the cake with the Mechnado attacks and arts, so fun, flashy, and satisfying and the arts let him play things out in so many ways that he just doesn't get old or predictable. Did I ever mention that years ago I had to make up a country for a school project and I called it Mechon?
Robin's up there, too, but unfortunately I think he's a bit too two-dimensional already. Space with thunder and arcfire, and fight up close with grabs or aerials. Most of his other attacks are just kinda there. I like him though, after all, that just means he's very magey. I can't really decide if I like playing him more than Pit... But for now, Shulk's really made his mark for me, Sakurai pulled him off so much better than just another sword fighter. (D-Smash 4 life)
And I can see why tiers aren't looking so hotgood for Robin and Shulk. They're very unconventional, and have awkward range issues. They both have a lot of bad range attacks (both their neutral ground games are very point blank), and some have tons of range, but those all very punishable (arcfire, backslash, their smashes, etc.). They're both very... Tactician.

You're using the wrong Monado if you want the Mechnado. Your using the Bionado, or the put that thing down and runado.
In other news... Duckhunt for me. Few zoners are as fun as he. Joint main with Little Mac, whose also really good. Metaknight, Pacman and maybe Dark Pit are subs.
Also who said custom moves were banned?

I actually think I'm going to try maining Rosalina. I hadn't tried her or given her a second thought until yesterday, but MAN she is fun. I like her whole playstyle of trapping her opponent into an inescapable sandwich of doom, or being able to fight at a distance, or edgeguard without leaving the stage...Luma has so much potential. They're so easy to kill though; it doesn't help that Rosalina's only slightly heavier and just as floaty as jigglypuff.
If Rosalina doesn't work out, I'll try Kirby. He's clearly my best character right now since he's the only one I can beat Clax with at all. (We did have some intensely close matches of Kirby v. Shulk and Rosalina v. shulk though) Then after that it'll be Robin, who I like despite having so much trouble charging that ungodly Thoron+ (plus 40% projectile with my current setup that is balanced.) and he's very spacing- oriented. As clax said, like a tactician.
I think I'm dropping Shulk. After Shulk is Bowser, and then Lucina.
So tl;dr Rosalina/Kirby, Robin, Bowser, Lucina.

How much does a crit do? 3 times the normal damage. ...I just watched Palutena do a 127% Up Smash. (I'm editing my own custom sets btw riku) I'm pretty sure eqipment's going to be banned. Custom specials, maybe not, but equipment? yes, because with Thoron the crit chance is possible for each hit, meaning that on average I can do 70% with one Thoron+. |

A trick for getting custom parts; use the home feature. If there's a custom part on the top half of the roulette thingamabob, hold A. EDIT: also 104% Thoron+. FEAR ME! |

I also want the trophies and gold too... But I'll try it sometime. If you want trophies, do trophy rush. You can get around 20 trophies in about the time it takes to do one match in classic. Gold, since you do a lot of online battling, you get plenty of gold there. But hey, if you want to, that's fine. EDIT: That moment when you watch Robin's Up-Air do 68%. Man, I'm loving this crit equipment. EDIT2: The crit also applies to grab pummels. Kirby's gonna have a field day with this. EDIT3: Also 154% Falcon Punch. Why? BECAUSE I CAN. |
