I'm not really a big anime watcher myself (not that that's all that can be dubbed or subbed), but I definitely prefer dubs. You can't really pick up inflections and all that with subs. If I find time and an example I'll post it later.

I usually really love dubs because it's a launguage I can understand and many times the acting is really good. It's only when the voice acting is really terrible I prefer subs, such as with alot of 4kids anime.

most of the time i like subs better because i can pick out phrases and semi-understand the jokes that the japanese characters use. it really helps me when i try to learn a bit more about the humor that they use in japan, and also about their culture. a lot of the time the dubbed version changes a lot of the wording to fit what english-speakers can understand, and it can take away from what the original author intended. also the pronunciation of japanese things is better, and i can pick out personalities from the way that each character speaks.
the only anime that i would watch dubbed would be pokemon. that is all, since for me its a good childhood memory, and i've gotten used to it.
i would consider watching dubs if the setting of the anime was in a more english-speaking area, like in Baccano, for instance (it takes place in america, with american people). it would just make sense, right? (except that i watched it subbed because i liked isaac's and miria's voices, and i couldn't stand jacuzzi's voice in the dubbed version)

eh? I haven't posted here yet? I thought I had. Oh wait, that was the soul eater thread, my bad. Subs are annoying in my opinion, Japanese characters a shout too much and I dont like that. Plus, it's better to be able to see whats going on without writing constantly being thrown in my face, not to mention the subs are often poorly translated, the english is really poor. So, dubs no argument over whats better in my opinion, just watch things in your own language if you can.
