gotcha force broken?

first of all... i want to say sorry because of my bad english
i am from germany

ok...

i bought gotcha force again... 2 years ago on ebay

i already bought it but it became boring and i sold it

so i played it again and wanted to get every borg but the game stopped at #8... i defeated the galactic emperor for the third time after i reached #8 but it still says that i played the game 8 times... i can't go on anymore
why? is it broken? does it help when i buy a new "gotcha force"?
or should i delete my score and start again?

First off, welcome from all the staff here at GFF.

second, naw Gotcha aint broken. The counter just doesn't go past 8. don't delete your score. If you want to go borg hunting just use the "special" mode that was unlocked after play 3(i think).

Think of it this way, Gotcha has eight levels of difficulty/rarity, play 1 is the easiest/least rare borgs, while play eight is the hardest/rarest borgs. Granted, they still have like a 1% chance of showing up, but its easier to get rarer borgs on later plays.

you probably dreamed it.
If they DID go past that, then those copies are the broken copies.
Or maybe your friend used an action replay.

^ no no, there is no special edition. Your game must have been broken, or you were dreaming it. I must say it's quite odd, as you seem adamant that you can go past play 8.

well, just replay an earlier playthrough to get those rare G Red forms you mentioned. And 'invisible' rare forms are officially known as crystal forms.
Then again, you are german.
Could you tell me if your Gotcha force is PAL format? there are some differences between versions. If it says PAL somewhere on the box, then your game must be broken because I'm english and I have PAL and it doesn't go past play 8.
NTSC doesn't either, and those are the only two formats I think so...
I'm at a loss.

Hailo. Too get the rare forms of G-red and Neo G-red go too the selection screen where you pick if you want to do Story, Replay, or Special, then pick Replay and pick what story number you want to redo. After you pick and save just do Story to continue your restarted play through.

To get the rare color Neo G Reds, replay the other plays down to play 5. I've never heard of the play counter going beyond 8. I'm thinking it may have been a region or a version difference.

Well, looks like I'm a bit later than normal, but, uh, welcome!

Anyway, yeah, the counter doesn't go past play 8 in NTSC-U or PAL versions of the game. Not sure about NTSC-J, those Japanese copies are about as mysterious as... I'm not sure what, but I'm guessing you don't have one of them, as you're in Germany, you say, meaning pretty much the only way you'd be playing a Japanese copy is if you imported it and probably a Japanese GameCube and knew Japanese.

By the way, your English isn't bad. MAYBE a bit of odd word choice, but we all know what you're saying. And I'm very particular about my word choice so I may be the only one here who finds it odd anyway. So don't worry about it

i can ask all of my friends who also bought this game when we were about 13 or 14 years old.
i am very sure that i was at #10 or something.
my friend was at 16#. i am very sure.
one of my other friends was annoying him because of that. he told him always that he is addicted to this game because he was already at #16 and we were at 10 or 12.
it wasn't a dream!!!

yes, it is PAL format.
it is german. i bought it here in germany. the language is also german.
i don't understand this. i was so sad because of that.
i tried and tried to get to 9 but it doesn't work now.

i got the rare color Neu G Reds because i was at 10# or 12#.
so when i start at 5# again i will get a black g red or something again.
you get more and more new borgs when the counter reaches higher counts 9,10,11,12 and so on

^Okay, so since you're so convinced it wasn't a dream (which is honestly the most likely explanation for this), let's assume it wasn't a dream.
I'm guessing your original copy was also German, meaning for that copy to go up past 8 would require it to have been broken or hacked. More likely hacked.
Alternatively, it could be that you completely ignored the play count down there and went off of memory to determine how many times you've beaten it. But that seems like something you're going to say didn't happen, and it probably didn't, so that's probably not the explanation.
Aside from those possibilities, I'm not sure what the explanation could be.

Also, if 16 plays and making crappy puns based on the names of the Borgs is an indication of an addiction then I have a seriousSIRIUS problem.

it was new. i bought it in a big shop. it was new and packaged.
nobody has played it before.
it can't be broken... i got more and more new borgs after i was at 9#, 10#, 11# and so on. no it's impossible to get them.
i tried to get the big cyber dragon but i always get the same colored crystals. you get different colored crystals when you reach 9# 10# 11# and so on. it is now impossible to get all borgs because it stopped at 8#.

you guys can't tell me that you have all borgs. it's impossible to get them at 8#

oouh, i regret that i sold it then
i really would like to show you guys that you can reach even 16#

I don't know where you get the idea that getting every Borg is impossible without plays higher than 8, but it's not true. You can get anything in any play of the game (except for G Black and the Galactic Emperor. And I suppose G Red and Neo G Red, technically.). It's just more likely at higher plays.

Oh, and I have all borgs. Not in every color, though.

You can get these borgs, the rest of us have to put up with never finding these borgs too, but we get them.
Steve (Sir Kirby) has many different types of borgs, or did, like a gold garuda? you must have spent ages trying to get something so rare and powerful...
