On a Scale of 1-10, how serious a gamer would you consider yourself to be?
1 = Not serious at all
10 = Deadly serious!
I'd say I am a 5. Some games I can play for hours at a time for weeks on end. But sometimes I can go off games completely for periods of time. New consoles and the cost of games means I very very rarely play anything new. The main games I play now are completely free.

I am only slightly exaggerating when I say I've been jumping on turtles since the day I left the womb.
In fact, most of the good memories of my childhood are of gaming. You know, back when the classic SNES-era platformers still had surprises in them because I hadn't found everything in all of them 5 times. I had no friends in childhood, so... yeah.
I have been gaming for 17 years (pretty much), and probably will for the rest of my life.
If only there were a viable way to make a living off of it...

I've been gaming since I could grasp a controller.
Jumping on Goombas, Koopas, and everything in-between for 11 years now, primarily with an old NES.
However, I play a whole lOt, and I am a perfectionist.
Why am I a 9?
Because I don't always play.
I never had a friend till 6.

Video gaming is my hobby, and I consider them an art form.
they combine all the media, music, film, being the main, they have stories as good or better than a book, and last much longer. A film last 2 hours on average, a good game can last 30- 100 hours.
I love stories, and video games provide my favorite stories.
I am even planning on making my own games (coughshadowsuncough)
when I am older.
Why do people not appreciate it's brilliants as much as they should?
COD does not count as a video game, it sucks and is propaganda.
And people think FPS when they think games. Or Mario, and Mario/nintendo is great, but we all know that there is far better out there.
I will play a game till I've compleated it, especially if I enjoy it.

A couple of years ago I would've said 10 easily.
Video games has dominated the majority of my life, but lately my interest has seriously dwindled.
I'm still a gamer at heart and I still play fairly often, but I'm not interested in games that are made today anymore so I'm only playing older games from now on.
As far as new consoles go, the Wii is the last one for me.
I'd say that now I'm about a 7 at most.

I say I'm a 5. I have really slowed down playing video games since the last year of school. Also I have been focused on other hobbies such as internet, reading, watching LPs and anime.

I see myself as a rather laid back gamer. Usually don't chase 100%, don't replay that much, and usually play the easier games.
However, I am a bit competitive and I have two games that I take extremely seriously: Pokemon and Gotcha Force.
I'd say... 6, maybe 7.
