Last I heard, it's not an anime. It's just heavily influenced to look like it.

I think the only reason it's not an Anime is because it's not that violent. They could easily change that though. But then by doing so it would not appeal to young children anymore. Then again, adding violence would make it appeal to a much bigger target audience.

Turning up the violence wouldn't make it more of an anime. Anime is simply Japanese animation, so it needs to originate from there to be called anime. Something this series obviously ain't.

I just saw a commercial for a new show called Legend of Korra. It appears to be a sequel/prequel to this.

It is a sequel, and i watched the first two episodes this weekend and it is even better than the first show (And that was in my top 10 things i've watched ever). I really recommend it, though you may wanna Wiki or watch the previous show if you're new.

There is a trope for this kind of show called animesque, where that even it's not anime, an animated show's art style is very influenced by anime.
Also Legend of Korra is awesome, I agree. And it's art style seems even more animesque then the previous series.

So Legend of Korra really is good? I've heard mixed reactions, but since it's a sequel to Avatar, I'll probably enjoy it.

I imagine if it's got bad reviews it's probably from people who think the first series is superior. I don't think you would need to torrent metalherox. If it's going to be as popular as the first series, if not more, then I expect them to rerun the episodes like a million times. Also the series is confermed to have at least two seasons. Also does anyone else think that Amon is a cool villian so far?

Amon is super cool, but that thing he displayed in this weeks episode totally isn't what we're supposed to think it is. *Wink wink nudge nudge.*

Yea but not at a time when i can watch it. I have siblings between 1-4 yrs old, and when i can watch tv they have to watch "their" shows because their grandmother (my dad is remarried) is an old fuddy duddy mexican who says violence is not appropriate to small children. Yes she talks like that. And when i do have the remote i am either at work or dont feel like watching tele. And i assure you i very rarely have the remote.

Just finished Avatar TLA . I was moving around between the states and overseas when it was airing, so I missed a lot of episodes so I didn't watch anymore (military TV is so...delayed lol). Finally got back to it and finished it on Netflix! *spoilers ahead* It was a great show, my only complaint is that there were a lot of filler episodes, and that some episodes weren't as fleshed out as others. It was also weird how they focused so much on Zuko at the end, nearly forgetting about Aang. Zuko is clearly the protagonist of the show, but it kind of felt like they just left their main character in the dust, you know? Overall though, great watch! We need more shows like this, when everything nowadays doesn't follow a plot :/ I mean, at least one good story with all of the randomness, right? Looking forward to the sequel you guys are talking about, though I don't have cable so that will have to wait as well.

Aang had two seasons of fleshing lol. Fire is Zukos thing, i think they had to focus on him so much because he knew he had to teach aang, but he felt like a monster for what he had done, and thus had to overcome his inner turmoil before he could accept aang as 1 a friend, and 2. An apprentice.
But i do see what you are saying lol. Also lion turtle ftw!

Wow only 3 episodes left of the first season of The Legend of Korra. And by the looks of it they seem to be epic. Also supposedly a relative of Zuko is going to appear in the 2-part Season Finale. The creators have stated that Zuko and Mai do have a daughter who's the Fire Lord, so maybe it's her.
