I know that certain attacks do more damage and hits when you mash the button repeatedly. I'm fairly sure Beam Samurai is the best melee character in general, because you can cancel his melee attacks mid hit into the X move. It kicks major bum.

i wish we knew the algorithm relating attack, defense, HP, and shot...
