The Wiki article makes it seem more complex than it really is because of all the variations. The basic rules go like this: Lowest to highest numbers: 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 J Q K A 2 Lowest to highest suits: S C D H
Four players, each dealt 13 cards. Player X with the 3S goes first and must play the 3S in the set. (Sets are singles, doubles, triples, quadruples, and runs). The next player Y must match X's set with Y's highest card being higher than X's highest card. If he cannot and will not, he may pass. Play continues until person Z plays a set that no one beats. When that happens, Z starts a new set. Play continues as before. When someone plays all their cards, the next person gets to start a new set. Play continues until everyone except 1 plays all their cards.
Then, people add all these extra rules, like quadruples can beat anything, or one of every card is an instant win etc.

My little brother and I both put in some money and bought a booster box of Digimon cards. We were very careful as to what we bought. After all, to my knowledge there are 4 different kinds of Digimon cards. I know that this is usually done when one watches something but... Here is one of those, "What I bought, what I expected, what I got." However since there is only one attachment per post (for some reason...) What I bought. Attachments:

What I got. They are those crappy info cards. Completely incompatible with the game. And the cards have a really harsh texture to them too. They kind of make a grinding sound when you slide one across the other. Attachments:

I've not seen this "Digimon" card game... and what strange things you have shown... You are missing out. The game is surprisingly fun, if a bit simple. I highly advise you to check it out.

I'll look into it, but I won't buy anything... Basically, it is a simplified, streamlined version of Pokemon. You have a deck of exactly 30 cards. You start with 1 rookie on the field. You draw and play cards. These cards either digivolve your digimon or influence the battle in some way. If your digimon dies all of it's champion and higher forms go offline (to the graveyard) and just the rookie remains. When two digimon battle, it is like rock paper scissors. Each guy has a symbol in the upper left corner (for Garurumon it is that green square). Each digimon has 3 attacks. Which they use depends on what symbol the opponent has. Super simple. Easy to pick up and play. Once you get into it though, it becomes a lot more than rock paper scissors.

There is 1 started deck (for the original cards) and it isn't that helpful. It basically gives you the skeleton of about 5 different decks. The second series of the game is really unbalanced. The third series of the game is super neutered, unenjoyable, and unplayable. I don't imagine that you will ever buy cards or actually play it. Especially because, like with all card games, you need others to play it with. A community of people who plays Magic is much more enticing than just being able to play with one of your buddies or online with random people. But I will recommend it none the less.

Hmm, I can't seem to find that much information on the rules and a sort of list of cards. I'll try and see if I can find out how to play and set up a lackey duel with myself.
Edit: It appears the current version of Lackey doesn't support Digimon, or for some reason it won't on my computer.

Eeh, I have never personally had a satisfying game of Apples to Apples. I have never though, after I played a game, "I'm glad I did that." No, it is always, "I hate these people."
