Just tried it. It seems the booster is all that matters... I'm not sure what the arm parts do, if they do anything, but I replaced them and still could use the wonder bit to fly for a long time. It doesn't work without the booster, though. I think the arms are only visual effects.
For now, I'm using a Brickgale AM3 (beam rifle and sword built in) with Shine Buster AM (or any arm that adds Fly), with Tesladonna LG. Oh, and Accel Saber HD . He's very tiny for being a M Air, with those LG especially. The LGs have a dive kick that help drop altitude and evade. With like a minute+ of flight with AURA, it's like a little fly-mech with respectable untuned Fly. Oh yeah, I also use an Electron Gun on the other arm to be more annoying. Well, I think I need a better arm weapon but I don't have much.
In short, right now I'm using a modified Blitzelt as a tiny flying scout.

I think the main problem is how much the population is declining... New players get some pretty nice stuff these days, like those free humanoids, and a few Thanks tickets from doing some easy missions (which give some really good Thanks Garapon bots). It's pretty unbalanced but it's not that bad for a free-only player anymore, and the UC shop has since added a ton of decent bots (and there's still UC > RT). I think new players now also start out with extra useful stuff.
Try it if you like, it's still a pretty cool game... If you can find some matches that aren't just war-torn veterans.

I got this and this from it. First one transforms into a big ship that can carry a player who can also man a turret. It has a special boost part, and a bunch of semi-homing lasers, some other beam thing I think, and also a beam cannon, and can carry two more hand (XL) weapons. It's basically like a gunship Air with massive firepower, even without hand weapons, that gains another weapon while carrying anyone around. (Its fortress mode looks eerily similar to Sirius) The other one is an Artillery type that 'heats up' as it attacks with a bunch of really good weapons and missiles and stuff. Also has some melee. Once heated up two levels, you can fire a MASSIVE beam cannon that just shoots this ridiculous giant beam for like 5 seconds. So yeah, it's good stuff. |
