^ What she said.
It probably violates a copyright or two, but the laws on that are so convoluted...
Just don't take credit for it, etc. and on the off chance the original artist contacts you, let them have their way.

Simply coloring it can't possibly break any copyrights. It's once uploaded/distributed in any way you need to heed what's been said; as long as you don't claim credit (other than the coloring), there's nothing to worry about.

What if you drew the image you're self before colouring it? Wouldn't that make the whole image your's?

Rin ( your online alter ego) looks very good. You could fix the eyes in the second image by simple ways of using Paint.

Rin ( your online alter ego) Why, thank you. I take that as quite a high compliment. ;D looks very good. And that too. xD I tried using Paint methods in Photoshop to fix up the second one, but when I tried that they both looked like this -->

D'awwwww, Rin looks excellent.
Were the blue outlines on the second picture part of the original image, or a stylistic choice?

Aww, those look great!! You got some of Rin's skin color on her shorts, though. By the way, 2 offtopic questions: Why does Orochi suddenly become into sports once she has her memory back? And, does Capcom call the purple haired version of her Rin? I've always been curious where that came from...

On topic: Oops. Off topic: 1. Probably because she played sports before getting brainwashed? If you lose your memory you probably don't remember the stuff you like to do. :\ 2. Yeah, that seems to be what they call her.

Cyber Ninja Thats pretty good. If you could trace it you could experiment with colour and still keep the original. Actually i haven't drawn anything fan related in months. Stupid college work.

I love the third one. I seem to have lost the passion of sitting down and drawing a detailed picture of something. I used to do it with Yu-Gi-Oh, Gotcha Force and other stuff but i stopped last year because my college tutor told me (And others) that being able to draw well isn't all you need to do to be able to work in animation. Apparently we have to be creative and be able think about unusual ideas a lot (Which i can do fine). Also we have to be abstract and so for most of the past 6 months i've been randomly making pictures out of anything other then pencil. Most of it looks crap in my opinion but not according to my teachers.

This isn't really "fan art" per se, since the artist has never played Gotcha in her life (though she's seen me play it) Furthermore, the artist in question isn't me, given than I draw about as good as a wet dog smells. But whatever, I felt like posting it. Girlfriend drew it for me. <3

If you think you can't draw, be abstract ;D Think more about the enery around the object, rather then the object itself.
