They are not duds, if you read what the creator (Voltrox) said, he told you it was ripped from a Japanese FAQ. It works perfectly with that copy of the game, only some work in all the other versions.
I got really tired of hearing REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. from all the times I tested things.
I primarily just did it to try and help the people on gameFAQ's
(like loopy/ultimatecannon.)

^You know, I'll have to look into it, but I think that Death Borg Beta II with 100 ammo may have had Gatling Gunner's ammo and reload time.
Which means I need to figure out how I did that, then do that with Death Borg Lambda II.
Shooting while moving with 3 shots simultaneously.
300 shots in 15 seconds.

Here's a thread that talks about the glitch; let me submit my own findings, just for record.

Several years ago, I had lost my data to a corruption that had nothing to do with the glitch, so I had to start all over again. I was so angry about it, however, and figured I really had nothing to lose anymore, so I abused the glitch to my heart's content. I performed every glitch right on the save file I intended to keep, and I still work from it today with no problems.

I got Galactic Emperor and G Black easy enough, but I had two favorite borgs I was missing pretty bad, so I got the Acceleration Ninja and Samurai Shogun patterns to work properly, too. Then I read into the guide at GameFAQs about the theories to change color and level(I won't infringe any copyright issues by posting direct copies of it here); the trick to it was to place the borg in slot 24 into slot 16 instead of 15 on one particular step. I didn't care about levels, as I intended to use them religously anyway, but through binary conversions I discovered which forces to place the borg on to make it a level 1 special color:

Force 9 for alternate
Force 10 for gold
Forces 9 and 10 for silver
Force 11 for crystal
Forces 9 and 11 for shadow

I played around with this a lot, and ran into so many ways to freeze the game with it, but over the course of about three months of constantly playing the game I eventually managed to get alternate, crystal, silver, and gold for all four borgs I glitched! I still have them today; I'm staring right at them now, but I have no idea how to screenshot my TV properly. Just so you know, alternates don't really exist for G Black or Galactic Emperor; they had the cube next to their names, but looked the same (the same thing that happens to Neo G Red; I did that one too, for reference). For some reason, I could never get the shadow one to work for me like the rest.

I'm not certain of this, but I think the reason I couldn't do the shadow ones was because I started playing the game on the Wii instead of a gamecube in the middle of all this. Playing the game now, I've noticed that I can't perform this glitch at all; I can't even get the normal GE and G Black on a new memory card! A shadow G Black would have looked cool, and...I really don't use GE (considering how hard it is to kill sometimes, it was disappointing to discover how useless it was). I guess I'm gonna have to find shadow AccNinja and SamShogun the hard way.

I had posted this stuff both here and GameFAQs when it was all happening, but the major people who were compiling all the information into guides were kind of winding down at the time, and it just kinda got left benind. At least now I have it written down online instead of random facts in a txt file. I would intend to experiment some more with it...but I would have to make it work again first.

Unless I use my gold Normal Ninja, then I can get gold, but I'm not doing that until I have another one.
Oh, and I did get a crystal Double Ninja and Acceleration Ninja, but they had 331648 EXP.
