If I had to choose, I'd say Gotcha since it fits with the whole theme of the game, but most likely it's just there to sound cool. Every name sounds cool when you add a mysterious letter in front.

Maybe it's a reference to The Simpsons
Homer J Simpson = Homer Jay Simpson
G Red could = Gee Red
xD

Galactic.
G Red and G Black are the Emperor's sons. Not sharing their father's destructive view, they decided to fight against him.

That would explain their humanoid form.

i would think that the G would mean "general." isn't g red one of the leaders of the gotcha borg corps?

^I always assumed that it meant 'General Red' as well. I thought he was leader of the machine borgs, and that's why they don't really have an 'elite' borg because that's him...

well, G Red and G Black are Machine Borgs. and it is the Victory King who is the commander of the Machine Borg Corps.
I think G Red is a war hero who's fought the Death Force for quite some time before G.E. destroyed Mega Borg!

No, I knew about Victory king being the leader of the machine corps but I always thought of the big machines to be in a different class to the likes of Thunder robot because they cost twice as much. I thought he was the leader of the small robots. Oh well, what do I know?

Don't most Borgs usually have 2 types? The big machines sometimes have the "Almighty" type i think so that makes them a bit different from the little ones (But I'm not 100% sure on this)

I'm fairly sure it's just a letter.
There's no period after G to indicate it's short for something.

I always thought of the machine borg tribe as two tribes, the large humanoid ones and the smaller clunky ones. G Red may have been the leader of the smaller borgs considering he's the only one (I think) without a specific function on Mega Borg.
And the types are more about their moves. Like gun borgs would be long range type, knights would be close range type, and borgs that have good range and melee are almighty type.

G is the manliest letter in the english language. All the manliest mecha must have G in their name to live up to their full potential. Just look at G Gundam, GaoGaiGar, Gurren Lagann, Grendizer, Kamen Rider G, Gaiking, etc.
If anything, that G stands for GUTS.
Okay yeah in this specific instance it's probably Gotcha but still.
