Any real metalheads here? Brutal powerchords, deathly screaming, hellish serenades that melt your ears and faces. Death metal, doom metal, hair metal, speed metal, any sort of metal that gets the blood pumping in your veins.  |

At least 25% of what I listen to is metal.
Most of the rest of it is relatively hard rock.
Most of what isn't relatively hard rock or metal is either alternative something-or-other or... whatever Mindless Self Indulgence is.
Basically, it needs at least one guitarist.

Primarily stuff from the past 10 or 15 years, a lot of it being stuff nobody I know has even heard of. I'm not good with my subgenres, but I think most of it is listed as either death metal or metalcore on Wikipedia ( the greatest of metal databases, clearly). For reference, the last song I've listened to as of the time of this edit was "Decimate the Weak" by Winds of Plague. |

I mean, there are the huge bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pagan Altar, and Motorhead that came out of it.
And there are great bands like Tank and Diamond Head...
But lot of NWOBHM bands ended up only putting out an album or two before vanishing.
Let's celebrate some on this metal thread until we inevitably change topics.
