Has anyone else ever watched G Red's run animation? Like I beat GE just now and started over again, and was messing around on the first mission and was running from the death borgs, its so amazing to watch, it dawned on me how much work actually went into GF. Thanks Capcom, for making a game that is still equally amazing 15 years later.

While doing the only mission in the game where this borg can have alt or rare colors, I happened to stumble across this. ...Grinding for that second crystal is going to be a pain. EDIT: Okay apparently it's sideways. If you can't tell what it is, it's Demon Wing.

Today, thanks to a joke comment by Indigo, we have made a new discovery.
Much like how many other borgs (Beam Gunner, the Mushas, and so on) can extend the duration (and by extension, damage) of an attack, the "normal dragons" of this game (i.e. Fire, Flame, Ice, Blizzard) can do the same with their breath attacks. I don't know the upper limits of this yet as my mashing skills are inconsistent and I can't use stick spinning for this one since it moves the dragon's head, but with my mashing I'm able to squeeze an extra 140 damage out of this move. I think this is the upper limit for the move as these moves generally seem to cap out at double the hits of the non-mashed version, but I'm unsure.
Also the G-Red series can do this too with their charge beam, which practically doubles its damage.

I wonder if Samurai Shogun can mash the big laser he has. I don't think i ever tested that one. Another one to try would be that spinning stab the flying borgs have with their X dash > B at melee range.
Wish i could still play this game, alas.

I shall play it and try both of these and let you know. It is a tough job, but someone has got to do it

Big thanks Metal.
About all this mashing thing, there is at least 1 borg where you could mash an action but you'd actually lose damage. Chainsaw Knight B's do more damage the longer they're in contact with the enemy, so if you draw out each hit it'll actually end up doing more damage. Same should apply to Beam Samurai's charged melee attacks and Metal Hero's lightsaber attacks as well as anything similar.
The more i think about the game the more borgs i wanna test out mashing on, but seeing how i'm not the one doing the testing i'll keep quiet.

If the Gamcube Classic Mini ever comes out in the future, they better include Gotcha Force on it!

Does anyone know a few missions where you can find alt colors of borgs? Like the clear, gold, metal and silhouettes? Might I add, the Panther Robot's red alternate pallet is so damn cool xD. I've been on the hunt for it a while now.

If a borg is: 1. Shown before the match starts in the loading screen 2. Owned by a commander who is shown on the loading screen
Then they cannot be any of their other special colors. If they meet neither of these conditions, they're fair game. If you just want as many as possible, grind out "The Oriental Battle!" in the park, otherwise, there you go.
An important note, the 2nd provision is worded the way it is because there is one exception to the "it won't be alt if owned by a commander" rule. This exception is the battle with Nekobe where Kitsune joins in about 15 seconds in. Since he pops in after the match begins, all of his borgs can be rare, meaning that Isaac and the G Reds are the only partner borgs that you can find legitimate rares of.
Other important notes: all borgs have rare alts, but not all borgs have alternate colors; only about half of them do. There's a stickied thread in Borg Discussion that shows all of the obtainable ones.

May be an irrelevant and off-topic point in this thread but with Nintendo's new online service, you will be able to play classic, previously exclusively single-player, games online ( ) and with more and more talk that Gamecube games will make it into this service, there's hope that we may play Gotcha Force online in a forseeable future! - Admin

Can we all just go make an account and flood their forum with gotcha force stuff to make this happen? Lol

Isn’t this literally all the fandom though? I can’t imagine us ever having much of an impact :s
