Apparently Proboards are planning to upgrade their software, which to me sounds like all their forums will get an updated look in the near future. When this happens, I know not if (and if so for how long) GFF might be messed up since I can't go on testing the new interface because they force you to go via Facebook to do it!
So I have to wait until the update actually happens to find out how things will be. Just a heads-up to all member in case you find GFF (temporarily) gone/messed-up.

Notice from Proboards: V5 has become mandatory, so GFF will be "upgraded" this Saturday. When it does, I'll put the forum into maintenance mode so I can get to grips with the new interface.
Seeing as I hate updates/upgrading more than anything, I truly hope it won't ruin GFF in any way.

V5 is up and running. I still have a massive amount of work and tweaks to do, so don't be confused about things looking seemingly weird. I will fix everything in time. One good news is that there are loads of smilies to use ( only Normal skin has the right ones uploaded so far) and I can add even more to the forum so expect smiley extravaganza to come. I've also added basic Gotcha avatars to the profiles.

Oh, and the lack of a new topics button is really making me mad. That was how I checked up on everything! EVERYTHING! and now I have to fish through each freaking section.

I noticed after posting that. Thanks though. Still requires me to go to the home page.

There's no longer a login button at the bottom of the page. Not a good first impression, V5.
...Though I do have to admit I very much like that it now uses hexadecimal for colors instead of a list of about 10 of them. ...And the fact that there are 8 fonts is also pretty cool. But I can't just go to the home page and Ctrl+Enter to log in anymore, and those features don't adequately make up for that at all.
Also I don't know what "The thread in which you are posting will be announced" means but I don't like the sound of it.
Also, what is this "Stories from around the web" at the bottom of the page? I am legitimately annoyed by that. It has no valid reason to exist. I cannot adequately express my annoyance without harming the ears of small children who have no business on the internet in the first place. How do I get rid of it?
Also why do they tell you when members were last online? I classify that as an invasion of my privacy for no particular reason and I will not stand for it.

I don't like this, not one bit... Guess I'll get used to it. The only real problem I have with is that new topics aren't bolded anymore. But everything looks so bland...
The forum always showed when people were last online in the profile page, though.

The forum always showed when people were last online in the profile page, though. Hence "no particular reason." I didn't realize that's been going on the whole time until I was already typing my post. But it feels more... exposed now, or something. Something about the way it works now just doesn't feel right. Also I don't know what sorts of activity go in the Activity tab of the profile, but I feel like it's not just "See last 10 posts V5" and it adds a bunch of random irrelevant things that don't need to go there and can't be entirely removed. I don't like that. EDIT: Oh hey they put miniaturized versions of avatars above quotes. That's... neat. Entirely pointless, but neat.

Hey so can anyone comprehend why anyone would want to 'follow' a member?

Hey so can anyone comprehend why anyone would want to 'follow' a member? Large forums. I don't see what point there is to having that and the Friend feature thing, though.

Hey so can anyone comprehend why anyone would want to 'follow' a member? I imagine it would be more useful in larger forums with thousands of members. Or if someone was working on a project and you wanted to know when they posted updates or something.

If you have adblock, right click on it and choose Block This Ad, then choose which element you want to block. I believe the one you'll want to choose is Blocked element: <TD id="gravity-stories-1" > Also I don't know what "The thread in which you are posting will be announced" means but I don't like the sound of it. Also why do they tell you when members were last online? I classify that as an invasion of my privacy for no particular reason and I will not stand for it. In the profile privacy options, there are options to hide online status and activity. I think that's what you're looking for.

Right-click on what, exactly? The link, the image, the "Stories from around the web" text? Because I've tried all of them and none of them worked. Any of it. Yeah, I found them (apparently), but the thread in which I'm posting will still be announced, I'm being told. Unrelated: I get a notification every time I'm quoted. Time to go find that setting and disable it. Also unrelated: What does this Visual button- *click* ...That's actually pretty cool.
